Sandi Vito is a force to be reckoned with. She has the wits, the determination and the heart to improve the lives of Pennsylvania citizens. Working for Pennsylvania local government since 1991, Vito has already made a name for herself through her countless contributions. She is the Secretary of Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry and a great one at that. She was voted into the position in April 2009, with a 45-5 vote result. Majority believed that Vito was the woman for the job and she really was. Up to date, Vito is working hard to better the employment and workforce working conditions in Pennsylvania. Her goal is to increase Industry Partnerships so that company can create more businesses and gives jobs to the unemployed. She is also focusing training programs with Industry Partnerships so that workers enjoy a higher wage.
Sandi Vito was regarded to be one of Pennsylvania’s Most Politically Powerful Women. In 2002, Sandi was named to be “Pennsylvania’s Smartest Staffers and Operatives” and was also part of the “Sy Synders Power 50”. She was also given the distinction of being part of the Democratic Dream Team wherein only the top political operatives of each U.S. state are counted. Aside from her personal awards and distinctions, she has also helped her local government get recognized for their efforts. Pennsylvania has now been recognized as a “Demand Driver” workforce. Although all these accomplishments can only be seen in writing, medals and trophies, the real success is seen in the improved lives of Pennsylvania citizens. She has truly made a difference, a long lasting change that will help the state for years to come.
